PPWR is coming – we are ready!

The EU’s new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) will apply from 12 August 2026. The Regulation aims to reduce packaging waste, improve the recyclability of packaging and harmonise packaging requirements across the EU.

The PPWR will be implemented in stages, with the first requirements applying from 12 August 2026. At this stage, key requirements include limits for certain substances in packaging. These include restrictions on PFAS in food-contact packaging and heavy metals in all packaging.

At Pyroll, we have prepared for the change well in advance. We have commissioned PFAS and heavy metal testing by accredited laboratories and verified the compliance of our production processes.

Our factories’ PFAS and heavy metal statements are available in the Sustainability section of our website, providing easy access to the relevant documentation.

Further PPWR requirements will apply gradually over the coming years. We closely follow regulatory developments and incorporate upcoming requirements into our operations according to their respective timelines.

12 August 2026 marks the first important milestone in the implementation of the PPWR. We are ready.
